ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Fabricator's responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,

  • Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems.
  • Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, flame resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety toed footwear.
  • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
  • Ability to fabricate and construct metal and steel components
  • Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
  • Ability to specialize in manufacturing and assembling equipment or devices, ensuring every product's quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain welding fixtures and tooling in a suitable working order
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and engineering blueprints
  • Visually inspect weld quality and use other quality inspection equipment to confirm compliance to part specifications.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work area
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness to test and pass welder qualification test
  • Thorough understanding of tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair
  • Previous fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints
  • Knowledge based and working background in MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel products
  • Must be able to complete a manual welding test. Welds are judged on functionality and esthetics.
  • Advance knowledge of measuring devices such as, calipers, scales, gauges and micrometers
  • Must be able to perform accurate mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Ability to work with fractions and decimals
  • A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record
  • Strong mechanical abilities
  • Fast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented approach to daily work activities
  • Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • At least 2 years' fabrication experience
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand Work Orders.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The General Labor position will perform a variety of tasks in the Shipping & Receiving / Sandblasting Department. The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,

  • Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems.
  • Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, flame resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety toed footwear.
  • Respect and protect Swanton Welding's and third party's property (tools, vehicles, facilities, equipment) and business activities
  • Operate equipment and assist production as needed
  • Assembles and builds skids and boxes from wood by using circular saw, skill saw, and nail gun to be used to store and ship products.
  • Packages products and parts onto skids for shipment
  • Operates forklift to load off load steel trucks and support loading of skids and small fabrications onto box trucks.
  • Partners with team to lift, stack and band fabrications for warehousing
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work area
  • Paints various steel parts with an airless spray gun
  • Uses saw to cut full length 24-foot steel material
  • Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Swanton Welding and follows the code of conduct
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical abilities
  • Experience working with wrenches and impact tools (i.e., basic mechanic skills)
  • Knowledge on how to operate drills, circular saw, air tools and power tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions).
  • A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record
  • Fast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Detail oriented approach to daily work activities
  • Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • At least 2 years' of manufacturing experience
  • Experience operating a forklift

  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work area
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor
  • Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Swanton Welding and follows the code of conduct

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical abilities
  • Experience working with wrenches and impact tools (i.e. auto mechanic skills)
  • Knowledge on how to operate drills, air tools, power tools and cranes.
  • Experience working with cars, trucks or semis
  • Welding experience desired
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions).
  • A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record
  • Fast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented approach to daily work activities
  • Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager - Estimator is responsible for planning projects and preparing budgets and timelines for the work. The Project Manager - Estimator will manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that all deadlines are met. The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,

  • Contributes to and supports the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company
  • Professionally represent Swanton Welding & Machining Company with existing and prospective customers and vendors.
  • Oversees and manages projects by prioritizing work, answering questions, managing deadlines, and resolving issues.
  • Responsible for customer and vendor communication, budgeting, scheduling, contract and project administration.
  • Creates AutoCAD shop drawings for projects.
  • Work with members of the team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify labor, material and time requirements by reviewing customer prints and specifications.
  • Creates working documents package, including the job traveler with work instructions.
  • Conducts costs analysis and estimates expected costs for the project.
  • Prepares and builds material lists for each project.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong acumen for project management and execution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving project management experience and skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and leadership skills
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Knowledge of structural shapes and mechanical aptitude

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree in related field. Bachelor's degree a plus.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
